Acton Town Hall Centre

Planning a Visit to the Acton Town Hall Centre

Acton sits in the northern part of Halton Hills, a short drive from Norval, and its town hall building is one of the more recognisable landmarks on the edge of the downtown core. For parishioners, that makes it a practical option when a parish group, choir or community association wants a space that feels more civic than a church hall. It also suits events that welcome neighbours who might not otherwise step inside a parish building.

Before you go

• Confirm the details first. Event times, room bookings and access arrangements are set by the venue and the event organiser, not by this parish desk. Check the organiser's own notice or the Town of Halton Hills information for the event you plan to attend.
• Plan your route. Most people travelling from Norval drive. If you are coming for an evening event, allow extra time for parking nearby and for winter road conditions.
• Ask about accessibility. Older civic buildings often have specific entrances or lifts for step-free access. If you or someone in your group needs them, ask the organiser ahead of time.
• Offer a ride. Carpooling is a simple way to help older parishioners or newcomers attend community events in neighbouring towns.

Fitting it into parish life

If you are combining a visit to Acton with Mass, look at the current Mass times so a weekend concert or talk does not clash with your usual service. Parish groups thinking about holding a gathering, fundraiser or talk off-site can find out which teams are active on the ministries page. They can then coordinate with the relevant ministry leader before approaching any outside venue.

Announcements about community events that involve parishioners usually appear in the weekly bulletin. It is worth reading each week if you want to know when parish members are performing, speaking or volunteering in Acton and the wider Halton Hills area.
