Is no summer recess for the proponents of greater Paris. They have several issues of importance (funding, terms of use) of the transport of this project component from here to the re-entry. As if this were not enough, the SNCF added their duties of holiday. The railway company has launched Wednesday a ("Les Echos" of yesterday) an idea that could radically alter the deal, allowing to move its TGV entre defence and Roissy. "We are still at a point where we can reopen the debate, and it is apparent important to offer this alternative", justifies Jean-Pierre Farandou, Deputy Director General in charge of branch proximities.
Currently, the Grand Paris projects provide for the creation of an automatic metro turning around the capital in a sort of double loop (see opposite). Problem, according to the SNCF: a subway - smaller roads - do not allow to pass the TGV. "This is why we propose an alternative with the creation of a specific segment between Versailles, defence, the future station Pleyel to Saint-Denis and Roissy, where of the high speed would be possible", details Jean-Pierre Farandou. Clearly, instead of an automatic metro, this portion of line welcome to both of the RER - more template - and a TGV. "The RER would be automated and would join Roissy from defence in only twenty minutes," said the dirigeant.

"Amazement" of the RATP
This project would primarily benefit to open new horizons to the public group TGV network. The new railway line would be indeed connected to the line high-speed North by future station Pleyel to Saint-Denis. "So it will be possible to imagine linking defence to the City in London in 2 hours 15", is Jean-Pierre Farandou. Other combinations are possible, as the defence-Lille, or the defence-Brussels. The future TGV from le Havre - by Nicolas Sarkozy and who is supposed to lead to defence - would benefit also from this solution.
Last benefit: SNCF could develop to defence and Pleyel of major TGV stations in the suburbs, while its Parisian stations are doomed to the saturation in a few years. "To do so, the only segment of defence - Le Bourget, this would entail additional costs of $ 300 million to the solution of the automatique underground", argues Jean-Pierre Farandou.
The project of the SNCF does however not unanimity, far from it. It will instead was hosted yesterday by a very dry white Christian release, expressing his "surprise". The Secretary of State for the development of the capital region summoned Guillaume Pepy, the President of the SNCF, "come to explain his ideas as soon as possible." It is true that this specific TGV segment would be to abandon the idea of the complete loop followed by automatic metro. "It is still the choice which has been adopted by the President of the Republic", it is argued in the entourage of Christian Blanc.
Same reaction courroucée at the RATP - very competent in automatic metro with its 14 line Paris - which has expressed its "astonishment". This has not prevented one of the directors of the Régie, the MP UMP Gilles Carrez, find the idea "extremely high, extremely attractive", which "should be studied.
